Following the leader

Let's say you're running for president, and you win by a mudslide. What would you change about your country and why? Would you make new laws? Paint the White House blue? Tell all!

Okay so I would not become President, as sweden doesn't have one of those, but instead a statsminister who is in charge of a political party. Well, if I won, it would be together with my party, the socialistic party here in sweden "vänsterpartiet" and things would change rather BIG. First thing would be the taxes, which would be much higher for the people with large incomes and smaller for the ones with less. This would eventually create a society with smaller space between the classes. So, changing the class-system would be my first. I would then try to regain control of companies and organisations which used to be state-owned before the fascist conservatives took over and sold out. This will be a huge challange. I would put more money in to schools, daycare, hospitals and forbid all private ownership/making money out of these kind of verksamheter (organisations, I guess, can't think of the english word) The society would be a fairer place for all, instead of a fair place just for some, with money. I would make collective traffic free for all, and charge as much as possible for private cars/petrol unless handicapped. Also, I think this will be something a lot of people would hate me and my party for, but I would stop people from flying more than a set number of times per year. Maybe on holiday just the once, and on business maybe three or four times per year, to really put a stop to the pollution we create from flying too much. I'd stop spending cash on our "defense" and thats where most our cash would come from to create things instead of destroying, for the first few years, and after that, I'd probably get a good amount of cash in from the rich people and their fundings. There will be no need anymore for a family of three people to live in castle-like houses, there will be solidarity and integration. People will be made to share what they have, yeah forced at first, but eventually it will be by choice as it will turn out to be so good! :) No person is an island, so in this way we will make sure that no one is alone anymore, no kid will be brought up alone with just one tired mom and maybe one working dad, but instead have a village to care for him/her. Like a huge kibbutz. No more chemicals for sale in the supermarkets for cleaning, people will have to really start thinking about what they're doing for the enviroment, not just complain about others, but do something on their own. There will be no more unemployed as instead of having some people work 60 hours per week, we just have all people work 20 hours per week and make room for our children, our hobbies and our loved ones. As people realise that they don't need so many "things" to make themselves happy, they wont need so much money to spend on themselves. We will make the farmers farm ecological and poisonfree food, and that will be all there is to buy in our stores. We will open our boarders up for people from all over the planet to join us, and I am absolutely certain that some will leave us too, and thats okay. :) Oh, yes I live in a dream world, but if we can't dream, who are we?
